Seyfried, meanwhile, went on to play Karen in the originalMean Girlsthe very next year.
“‘You’re one of ours!'”
Seyfried said they told her.
“I was like, ‘I’m not, but thank you.’
And they said, ‘Nah, it’s close enough!'”
Seyfried said that she hopes the show will “breed compassion” for people dealing with substance abuse.
Her own uncle died of it.
“Would I rather do comedy?
The levity and challenge of that is really fun.
But this strikes so close to home for so many people with the addiction storyline, including me.”
