He won another Emmy for his work in the miniseriesThiefin 2006.
Braugher enjoyed a late-career renaissance with the sitcomBrooklyn Nine-Nine, which weaponized his straight-faced seriousness for incredible comedic effect.
He also served on the board of the Classical Theatre of Harlem.
Braugher is survived by his wife Ami Brabson and their three sons.
