And it was just dead silence.
Then I was like, ‘I got to go.'”
But the comedian managed to hitch a ride up with a news crew that had recognized him.

And then I stepped in and it was like dust, toxic stuff everywhere."
“It was no good,” Hader recounted.
“I was in total shock.”

Seeing his community gone was “the hardest thing,” he said.
When he witnessed the “devastation, I was speechless,” Hader said.

Hader said that his house “is standing but unlivable.”

Hader’s kids have been “resilient” throughout the ordeal, he said.
“I get inspiration from them.”
Friends and loved ones, including girlfriendAli Wong, have also been supportive.
It meant a lot to me.
I feel like they’re very worried.
