Osgood was best known as theSunday Morninganchor who helmed the show from 1994 to 2016.

He succeeded original host Charles Kuralt and ultimately served a longer tenure of 22 years to Kuralt’s 15.
He was also the voice ofThe Osgood File, a daily news commentary series for CBS News Radio.
He soon decided to enlist in the U.S. Army, to take the position of band announcer.

In 1967, Osgood made the move to CBS, where he worked in both radio and television.
