This isn’t the first time Blomkamp has signed on for a Verhoeven-adjacent project.
He was previously tapped to helm aRoboCopsequel in 2018, butdeparted the following year.
Blomkamp recently directedGran Turismo, a racing drama based on the PlayStation video game franchise of the same name.
He had previously attempted to helm anAliensequel starringSigourney Weaverthat was ultimately shelved.
