This is the first child for both.
Gillan, now 37, was part of the British time-hopping series from 2010 to 2013.
She played Amy Pond, in which she befriends the titular character, then portrayed by Matt Smith.
“I definitely want them,” she said of children.
“It’s going to be hilarious.
I think I would be a good mum.
Gillan said then that she hoped to return to Scotland eventually.
“I think there’s a possibility that I’ll come back at some point,” she said.
