He advances on her ostensibly to help, but instead shocks her with a taser disguised as an umbrella.

Iris flees into the woods with Richard in hot pursuit.
Richard claims that he was in a car accident and that he lost his wife.
Panicked, Richard stops at a gas station to refuel, leaving Iris alone in the truck.

A young child, whom Iris briefly envisions to be Matteo, appears at the window asking her questions.
The young boys mother pulls him away, but shes noticeably disturbed by Iris unmoving condition.
Richard transports Iris back to his car so that he may retrieve his personal belongings.

He insists on speaking with Iris, whom Richard claims is his wife.
He chalks her condition up to drinking.

How doesDon’t Moveend?
After murdering the well-intentioned cop, Andrew takes Iris to a jetty and puts her in a small boat.
Iris is able to fool Richard by pretending to cry, coaxing him to bend down next to her.
When he does, she stabs him through the neck with a large knife.
Richard pulls a gun on Iris, but she rocks the boat from side to side.
Richard is sent overboard as the gun clatters onto the floor of the boat.
Two bullets pierce Richard, sending him back into the river, but several also pass through the boat.
What happens to Iris at the end ofDon’t Move?
Guiding her to shore is Matteos red plastic boat.
Iris pulls herself onto the dock and waits as the power in her extremities slowly returns.
As it does, she hears Richards pained breathing from further down the beach.
Iris stands over him for a moment, looking into his eyes.
Thank you, Iris tells her attacker.
Then she walks away, content to let Richard die a slow and painful death.
Why does Iris thank Richard at the end of the movie?
To me, the movie is a conversation with herself about the will to live, Asbille explained.
Asbille continued: I believe there is a moment when Iris chooses to live, not just survive.
Thats what resonated with me, fighting desperately to overcome something that has left you feeling paralyzed.
Kelsey starts the film helpless, Raimi explained toTudum.
Shes been through a lot and she feels as though shes reached the end of her road.
