Debbie Nelson, the mother ofEminem, has died, a representative for the rapper confirmed.
Nelson died in St. Joseph, Mo., while battling advanced lung cancer,TMZfirst reported.
Nelson was born in 1955 on a military base in Kansas.

Representatives for Eminem did not immediately respond toEntertainment Weekly’s request for comment.
Eminem and his mother had a publicly strained relationship.

More recently, Nelson congratulated her son in 2022 following hisinduction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“I love you very much.
I knew you’d get there.
It’s been a long ride.
I’m very, very proud of you.”
Eminem’sestranged father died in 2019 at 67.
Nelson is also survived by her son,Nathan Mathers, who she shared with ex Fred Samra.
