“They were all traumatized,” Prinze Jr. tellsEntertainment Weeklyof Ray and Julie.
Things haven’t exactly worked out professionally the way Ray was expecting either.
“Ray has a bar that he runs,” theShe’s All Thatstar explains.

“It’s kind of where he’s at in his life now.
He’s not the active fisherman that he thought he was going to be.
He’s managing and owning a spot of his own and trying to keep it afloat.”

Aren’t Ray and Julie supposed to be dead?
Robinson is ready to explain.
“Here’s what I feel like I can say without spoiling anything,” Robinson says.

“We do find out what happened to her.
So that’s all I’ll say.”
Robinson also approached the film through a more modern lens, wanting to explore the effects of trauma.

So that is definitely the main source of conflict between them: how do you move through this?
Do you push it down and repress it and just keep moving?"
“The energy when both of them got to set was crazy,” Robinson recalls.
“It was so fun, and there was so much reverence for both of them.
There was so much respect for both of them.
It is just such a really unbelievably cool, surreal thing.
