I sobbed more when Lizzie [Moss] and Cherry [Jones] reunited.

There’s only a few places where displaced Americans can go.

How close did you come to ending Serena’s story on that train?

What I always venture to do is just start with, okay, what would really happen?

Not what would happen on TV, but what would really happen.

And my sense was the people on that train f—ing hate Serena.

So, what’s it like to fight the long war?

June has lost a lot along the way, but everybody is involved in that same long war.

Serena and Serena’s poor son; her new husband; Nick; Nick’s wife, Rose.

Everybody’s involved in this war and struggle, and some are pulling in different directions.

I hope when you get to them, you’re like, oh, of course.

That’s exactly what she would do.

That I couldn’t have made any other decision.

When I do my job well, all the decisions I make you completely forget about.

And you think, oh, of course that’s the way it should be.
