Irvin Cartagena sold The Wire actor the fentanyl-laced heroin that led to his accidental overdose in 2021.
His involvement in Williams' death also reportedly factored into his sentencing.
The 40-year-old man apologized for his role in the actor’s death during his sentencing.

“I am very sorry for my actions,” Cartagena said through an interpreter.
“When we sold the drugs, we never intended for anyone to lose their life.”
“It’s got to stop,” Abrams said.
The other two men involved will have their sentencing hearings next month.
Before his sentencing,Williams' nephew Dominic Dupont pleaded for compassion for the 72-year-old Macci.
“I understand what it is to be system-impacted.”
The Wirecreator David Simon also asked for mercy ina three-page letter to the judge.
“What happened to Mike is a grievous tragedy,” he wrote.
