Entertainment Weeklycan confirm that filmmaker Yann Demange has exited the vampire superhero project.The Wrapfirst reported the news.

Marvel toldEntertainment Weeklythat the directors departure was “due to continued shifts in our production schedule at the time.
Demange, who helmedWhite Boy Rickand episodes ofLovecraft Country, wasannounced as the new directorin November 2022.
At that point, the film had already beendelayedto a Sept. 6, 2024, release date.
