The Irish-English star died Thursday following “a bout of pneumonia,” his publicist confirmed to EW.
Representatives for Gambon did not immediately respond to EW’s request for more information.
He also made a one-episode appearance in the mega-popularDoctor Whoseries in 2010.

He recently starred opposite Renee Zellweger in the 2019 Judy Garland biopic,Judy.
Gambon married Anne Miller in 1962 and together they had one son, Fergus.
He also had a pair of sons with designer Philippa Hart, born in 2007 and 2009.
