Word came Tuesday that the actor and his wife, Christine Baumgartner,are divorcingafter 18 years of marriage.
Three days later, Paramount connection confirmed that the popular Costner-led Western seriesYellowstonewould beending with its fifth season.

But although the two bombshells came in the same week, they don’t seem to be otherwise connected.
Representatives for Costner didn’t immediately respond to EW’s request for comment Friday.
Costner and Baumgartner wed in 2004 and share three children.
In addition to the new sequel and1883, theYellowstoneuniverse includes1923, starringHarrison FordandHelen Mirren.
