Season 4 has gone too far.
At this point (or maybe always?
),Outer Banksis made up of two separate shows.

Jonathan Daviss, Chase Stokes, and Rudy Pankow on ‘Outer Banks’.Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix
Then theres the treasure-hunting drama where the Pogues explore ancient caves and narrowly escape death at every turn.
And up until season 4, I was fine with the split.
I thought, this show can be both!

Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, and Carlacia Grant on ‘Outer Banks’.Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix
I no longer think that.
After three seasons of crazy treasure-hunting adventures, the season 4 premiere felt like a breath of fresh air.
It was their dream!

Carlacia Grant, Rudy Pankow, and Jonathan Daviss on ‘Outer Banks’.Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix
And within that dream, theres plenty of drama to mine.
How do teens successfully manage a business?
How do three romantic couples live in a house together?
How do they stop JJ (Rudy Pankow) from breaking everything and gambling away all their money?
Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix
I loved it!
Im far more invested in the everyday lives of these lovable beach bums.
Its giving TVBlue Crush which is an incredible compliment, by the way.
Fans love these characters.
The world of the Pogues is so rich, it doesnt need treasure.
So, let him leave it all behind!
Let the teens just be crazy hot teens and just never show me that ghost ever again.
Outer Banksseason 4 part 1 is streaming now on Netflix.
Part 2 drops Nov. 7.
