“I lost everyone, you know.
Ive lost my parents.
What I said about the material things Ive got, everything just meant nothing at that point.
Cowell was “desperately unhappy,” he recalled.
“I wasnt particularly enjoying my work and I just thought, you know what?
Im just going to become a vampire.
And I would work through until 7 or 8 in the morning.
I just loved the intensity.
Cowell said of the distraction, “Im just going to be a ridiculous workaholic.
I was very successful but I wasnt happy, I really, really wasnt happy.
Life took a turn when his longtime partner and fiancee Lauren Silverman learned she was pregnant.
“It changed everything in my life.
It made me happy again,” Cowell said.
I really had reached the point where nothing mattered.
Even to the point that I almost cant remember everything from that period.”
“Id put on a ton of weight, I was eating junk.
