“It’s pretty dramatic the whole way through,” Fletcher says.
“There’s not really any downbeats.
It gets moving pretty quickly from the beginning, and it goes for 10 episodes.

So, that was one of the things that really worked in our favor.”
As for where the season goes from there, the showrunners are remaining tight-lipped.
But they tease that fans will be surprised by where it all ends in the series finale.
But we’re really happy with the adjustment, and it’s a swing.
“It’s meant to make you leave with big feelings.
We want you to miss the show when it’s over.
So, hopefully it works.
We were happy with it when we were done, for sure.”
Helbing says that the final episode has “hopefulness and sadness” to it.
“There’s love, there’s every feeling,” he adds.
As for what other series finales they turned to for inspiration, Helbing laughs before revealing their North Star.
Now it’s Fletcher’s turn to laugh.
“And I actually liked that one!”
“That’s the thing, everything’s so subjective with these things.
Ultimately, that idea is what guided the showrunners as they mapped outSuperman & Lois' ending.
“I think a good surprise is necessary for a finale to work,” Fletcher says.
And hopefully, we came up with something that people liked.”
