“That was a really special couple of days that we shot the wedding,” Yang adds.
For Ahn, the queer Korean-American writer-director says shooting the scene carried “a lot of emotional weight.”

Just don’t ask Mama Ahn about that particular viewing.
“What’s funny is my mom does not remember renting it,” Ahn adds.
“But my parents are a real inspiration in my life.

I want to be a parent because I’ve been parented very well.”
This is very much inspired by the journey I’ve gone on with my parents.
I’m really happy that they’re so supportive now.

He adds, “That’s pretty bold.
But I’ll say that great art inspires art.”
And Lee has “been incredibly supportive throughout the process,” Ahn shares.
