Could the real Tom Hanks kindly stand up?

Tom Hanksis warning fans away from an AI scam that has stolen his likeness.

“BEWARE,” Hanks wrote atop a photo of his AI-created counterpart.

“There’s a video out there promoting some dental plan with an AI version of me.

I have nothing to do with it.”

Representatives for Hanks did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.

Hanks went on to speculate that such AI doppelgangers could one day be indistinguishable from his real self.

“I could be hit by a bus tomorrow and that’s it.

Thankfully, Hanks is around and fully equipped with social media to dispute the current onslaught of AI fakes.
