As a mother, I only wanted to hear positive things because I’m biased," she said.

“I decided then I wanted to know more about his music.

I was very hurt by that.

I never raised my son to be a bum or a drug dealer.

So I listened to his music and I asked a lot of questions.

I cried like a baby while listening because what I heard was an intelligent human being.”

His later music was influenced by those visits, she said then.

“I remember Lou trying to teach him how to play guitar while Dave would be the singer.

At the time, I didn’t know anything about rap and I doubt Christopher did either.

When they were together, they were always playing their reggae music.

He really got a kick out of that and looked forward to those moments.

The younger Wallace was also regularly exposed to country music on the radio during his childhood, she said.

“As a mother, I’m extremely proud of his accomplishments,” she toldRolling Stone.

But it’s an astute honor, and as a mother, I’m just elated for that.”
