Episode 1: The Luckiest Guy in NY
Joe Goldberg, beloved philanthropist socialite.
Doesnt seem quite right, does it?

Charlotte Ritchie as Kate Lockwood.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
Joe and Kate are everyones favorite couple, changing the world together.
Now, Henry’s got Papa Joe, who quotes Thomas Wolfe and readsThe Lord of the Ringsat bedtime.
She intentionally kept the Lockwood board out of the loop about her plans, which raises several eyebrows.

Charlotte Ritchie as Kate Lockwood, Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
And Uncle Bob doesnotcare for Joe.
Reagan’s twin, Madison (also Anna Camp hooray for double the Camp!
), is less bothered by all of it.

I would argue thats reporting, not a hit piece.
But whats a little semantic difference between friends?
And look at us now.

Anna Camp as Reagan Lockwood, Pete Ploszek as Harrison, Anna Camp as Maddie Lockwood.Courtesy of Netflix
Okay, the Joe thing proves that her creep radars surprisingly strong.
Also, I’m team Teddy, immediately, forever.
So both twins' Spidey senses are tingling about Joe.

Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, Madeline Brewer as Bronte.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
Guess we’ll see if that helps either of them survive whatever’s to come.
He’s furious but not surprised; Uncle Bob was Toms No.
1 guy, after all.

Except he doesn’t.
Kate discovers his violent pages and is concerned.
Joe assures her that all of his murders were necessary to protect his loved ones.

), and his father (okay, Ill give him that one).
But puh-LENTY of his kills were for far less noble or necessary reasons not that Kate knows about them.
Maybe not quite yet, but ungrateful is no way to stay breathing around Joe.

Madeline Brewer as Bronte.Courtesy of Netflix
Once Kate leaves, Joe hears someone creeping through the store and grabs a blunt object to protect himself.
Honestly, shes lucky he didnt smash her skull right then and there for disrespecting the classics.
The woman says she shimmied through a window because she felt bad for the neglected books.

Charlotte Ritchie as Kate Lockwood.Idris Solomon/Netflix
She even cops to borrowing one but insists, I always bring them back.
In the end, he lets her leave unharmed.
Kate, meanwhile, confronts Uncle Bob, who admits to leaking the report.

Kate listens with a smile, then assures him that shell survive the upcoming vote.
Joes less pleased about being right and more concerned about Bob being aware of any details about Rhys death.
Still buzzing from finding his purpose again, Joe heads back to Mooneys and discovers the intruder there again.

Wait, sorry, what I meant was, with Joe, never say never!
Sing it with me: Bronte, you in danger, girl.

Episode 2: Blood Will Have Blood
Boy, did I speak too soon.

Joe and Bronte are flirting.
And she SITS DOWN on it.
Bronte, youre gonna givemea menty-B.

And of course, she does the instant Joes called away for an emergency at Henrys ritzy school.
(Henry broke Reagan’s daughters nose.
The headmistress stirs up all kinds of feelings about Joes violent childhood and how it affects Henry.

Madeline Brewer as Bronte.Matt Infante/Netflix
Dont worry, well circle back to this.)
Henry tells Joe that he hit Gretchen for saying that his mom was a killer.
Dont make me side with Reagan here!

Griffin Matthews as Teddy Lockwood.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
But no, Reagan was referring to her suspicions that Kate killed Uncle Bob.
At this point, poor Kenton offers in vain to show himself out.
You and me both, guy.

Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
Naturally, Joes alarmed by this, but nows not the time.
You know what would make this terrible dinner even worse?
Henry bursting into the dining room to whip a knife at Reagan’s head.

Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg.Courtesy of Netflix
(In Henrys defense, it was a butter knife.)
It is, of course, Bronte, whos accidentally locked herself in the book cage.
She says hed never understand her desperation.

Anna Camp as Maddie Lockwood.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
He in turn fires her.
But hey, he lets her out of the basement alive.
Take the win and run, Bronte!

Madeline Brewer as Bronte and Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
She asks what Joe the author is hiding from.
An unsolicited critique of a work in progress?
you’re able to kill her now.

Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg.Clifton Prescod/Netflix
Bronte takes it in, then says, Its nice to meet the real you.
Thats not a would-be rapist, its Harrison.
While shes there, he thanks her for the critique.
Joe goes all sad puppy and says the person he trusted used his childhood trauma to hurt other people.
Bronte softens and agrees to stay, but she warns Joe that she doesnt sleep with married men.
For her sake, I hope that helps… all of this.
Oh, and Joe wants a live-in beta reader for his work-in-progress.
Hey, better late than never!
Kate listens in, and afterward, she agrees they need to stop Reagan, but not through murder.
Im worried for you!
The blonde in the basement exclaims Boo-Boo!
when she seems him, which explains Joes newest predicament: he caged the wrong twin.
The FBI had never seen anything like it.
I mention this at the top of the recap for two reasons.
One, Maddie didnt know it then, but that harrowing incident prepared her to survive Joes cage.
And two, shes been harboring resentment for her sister for a long, long time.
But first, lets turn to life in the Lockwood-Goldberg house, where tensions simmer under the luxe surface.
In the end, Kate insists on handling Reagan on her own.
Its all butterflies and rainbows and heart-eye emojis for Joe.
Theres quivering and shoving, growling and purring.
Its intense before they break away with a laugh.
And thats how he meets her awful ex, Clayton (Tom Francis).
Even before he opens his mouth, I hate his haircut.
Then he tells the room at large that Brontes really Louise Flannery, a dental hygienist from Ohio.
This, at last, stirs Joes suspicions, and he wonders if hes being conned.
Some light internet stalking shows that her mother died, and shes read Becks book.
None of that dispels my hope that the players getting played here!
But when he knocks on the apartment door, he finds Louise-turned-Bronte huddled on her bed in tears.
He even admits to briefly dating her and says, I wish I killed Dr. Nick.
Then maybe she would still be here.
Okay, its a dream sequence that makes the idea of masturbatory self-indulgent writing, um, literal.
This is a mid(-ish)life crisis.
Leave the younger woman alone.
Joe, of course, wants to embrace the violent solution, but Kate asks for more time.
When he updates Maddie, shes the opposite of overjoyed that the affair is out in the open.
(Reagan bullied Maddie into being her surrogate despite knowing how she felt about Harrison.)
There are fates worse than death, she tells Joe.
You might as well kill me.
Her fury and despair moves Joe into entering the cage to give her the insulin.
Joe answers honestly: he stopped feeling guilty for needing a purpose, like protecting her and Henry.
In fact, thats what makes him special.
Its been three long years of playing nice, and he suffers when Kate recoils from the real him.
He calls her a powerful queen who needs her knight to make the world better.
But Kate doesnt want to do it Joes way.
Clearly, Kate doesnt realize that one doesnt simply break up with Joe Goldberg.
Episode 4: My Fair Maddie
Affair.
Truly, is it a season ofYouif Penn Badgley isnt asked to film masturbation scenes in odd places?
At least hes at home this time.
Joes besotted enough that he agrees to it, even with Maddie in the cage downstairs.
Bronte also reiterates that theyre just work friends and asks if hes written any more pages.
Its yet another sign that Bronte, not Kate, is the one for him.
She then explains the D&D alignment chart to Joe, who somehow had never heard of it.
Chaotic good is messy with a heart of gold.
Thats Bronte and all the romance novel heroes who beast out to protect the people they love.
Then theres chaotic evil, the ones who want to hurt people.
Joe recognizes Reagan immediately and heads downstairs with a new tactic.
It transforms her briefly into Reagan, and Joe starts to think that this plan might actually work.
Dont you love watching actors get to stretch like this?
Not only is Anna Camp playing two different characters, but she nails the depiction of Maddie playing Reagan.
It never gets old!
Furthermore, shes having Uncle Bobs body exhumed to look for evidence of foul play.
That night, Kate tells Joe that shes done.
She realized how easy it would be to simply ask Joe to take care of Reagan.
(Its unclear which parts she actually chomps, but whatever fleshy bits she got, Joe howls.)
Marienne and Nadia would know how to handle this.
In one, she finds fresh pages that he didnt share with her.
Yknow, Joes gender has a terrible reputation for writing sex scenes (for good reason!
), but he acquits himself pretty well here, based on the excerpt Bronte reads.
Now is not the time to let on that you know more than you should!
Maddie shouts that Harrison lovesherand doesnt need Viagra when theyre together (ouch!).
The spare, Reagan spits.
You are completely and utterly irrelevant.
Its time for Mooneys big opening.
Clayton complies, and Bronte steps out immediately afterward, tears on her cheeks and Joe in pursuit.
(Wait, whos minding the books and freshening the drinks?)
She proves herself the strongest of the pair by walking away, leaving Joe gazing helplessly after her.
You were right, she tearfully tells Joe.
The one person in the whole world who was supposed to respect me?
She respected me the least.
Then she stands and screams to be let out.
Sooooo, were all thinking it, right?
Is that Maddie, or is that Reagan in Maddies clothes?
Idris Solomon/Netflix
The next day, Joe waits anxiously for Maddie-as-Reagan (probably!)
Its an extremely Reagan speech.
Shes trying so hard to do the right thing, but Joe begs her to stay.
Episode 5: Last Dance
Weve hit the halfway point of the final season.
One thing Kate does find out is whats happening between Joe and Bronte.
She says Joes hurt and worse.
And listen, if you didnt jump back 10 seconds to rewatch Griffin Matthews disbelieving delivery of Worse??
yo go back to Netflix and do just that.
Also, theres the Uncle Bob of it all.
Joe asks if this is what shes into and taps microphone listen up!
Fiction is fiction, yall.
But its just as well; Maddies spinning out and feels haunted by her twin.
She wants to speed up the timeline for faking Reagan’s death.
You dont have friends!
Joe manages to talk her down for now, but that woman is close to cracking.
Joe returns to Mooneys and finds a terse note in his typewriter from Bronte saying shes leaving town.
Her apartments stripped bare, her numbers disconnected, and Joes suspicion immediately falls on Clayton.
Hes upset as he returns to his family, where he compares the cold and passionless Kate to Bronte.
She may be chilly, but shes careful and dumps out the tea he made for her.
She really cant be too careful.
Never forget Benjispeanut oil!
Instead, she starts planning for their divorce, which is pretty darn brave of her.
He storms out and self-soothes by breaking into Claytons apartment.
Then a call from an unknown number comes in, and he leaps to answer it.
She wanted to hear his voice but wont tell him where she is or what happened.
She blurts out that he shouldn’t worry about her and hangs up.
Joe calls the number back, and reaches an Atlantic Beach diner.
Joe dials it up to 11, telling her that hes getting divorced, and its only her now.
She frets that if he knew the real her, he wouldnt feel the same.
Ummm, what are the odds that Joes hooked up with yet another murderer?
How many times can that happen to one guy?
Maddie badly lies that Reagan’s upstairs and scampers away to shut herself in the bathroom.
Its ridiculous and fun, and I wouldve watched 30 more hours of exactly this.
And shes grateful for that!
Things are better now, she tearfully insists, asking Kate to pretend that none of this ever happened.
Aww, sweet Maddie.
I hope shes able to come back from this.
Somebody hey rescue Teddy from all of this.
Finally, Joes reveling in the best sex of his life when he hears a disturbance downstairs.
Its Clayton, and hes getting violent with Bronte.
When Joe intervenes, the men start to grapple, and Bronte pointedly looks at the stone fireplace hearth.
Joe takes the hint and bashes Claytons head against it, killing him.
Episode 6: The Dark Face of Love
Answers!
And maybe a little bit of Stockholm syndrome, too.
But not the Maddie kind.
The one where a woman yet again falls for Joe Goldbergs charms.
The difference is that unlike his other victims, Bronte/Louise should really know better.
And flashbacks tell us why.
(We recognize these scenes as set in the past because Louise is rocking schoolgirlishly long hair.)
But no, Louise plans to get her dental job back.
(The inclusion of Isben is a dead giveaway; Beck wasnt a fan.
And no wonder thats what Bronte rambles about during her second meeting with Joe.)
Her friends find her almost hyperventilating after her encounter with Joe.
Slow clap, well done, bloody good show.
Yeah, shes pretty much got his number, doesnt she?
Because thats what put cracks in the groups foundation.
But she sticks with the plan since her friends are counting on her.
And realizing what all of this led to, Louise paces the interrogation room, stewing and doubting herself.
Joes also having a bad, bad, night.
He slinks home and finds Kate in full boss mode, putting out Joes fires.
She blames Joe for killing her sister (Nu-uh, Maddie did it!
Joes livid and vows to fight her for custody, but Kate asks what money he plans to use.
Otherwise, hes on his own.
Her threats delivered, Kate shuts herself in her bedroom and breaks down.
Yeah yeah, she did many bad things, but Im fond of that cool, competent queen.
Enough of Joes flailing.
Dom reluctantly agrees but says shes got Clays gun and is calling Phoenix for backup.
Louise looks small and deflated when Dom picks her up outside the police station the next day.
Episode 7: #JoeGoldberg
From paparazzi darling to the most side-eyed man in New York.
(To be fair, Humanitarian or homicidal maniac?
is the kind of false dichotomy headline thats generally frowned upon in responsible journalism.)
Books have always been his savior, after all.
Kates navigating the crisis with help from her PR consultant, Sloan.
She swears to keep her siblings on her side but refuses to consider turning on Joe.
Sure, its for self-preservation reasons, but Sloan doesnt need to know that.
So thats one sibling handled.
He reluctantly agrees, but he had every reason to be wary.
Teddy makes it clear he knows how dangerous Joe really is and pulls a knife.
After a struggle, it ends up in Joes hands, which is when Henry descends the stairs.
Returning to running that kennel will be a relief after all of this.
Stay safe, Teddy!
Louise is also opting out.
Thing is, Joedidkind of act in self-defense.
Clayton attacked her and Joe both and had been showing wild disregard for her safety prior to that.
(Sure, sure, Joes a murderer, so that changes the equation.
Im just saying, it wasn’t a violent scene before Joe got down there.)
Its Doms parting Pop off, fam that adds insult to injury for Joe.
But things are about to get even worse for him.
(Dont forget they wrote a book about their ordeal; link in bio!)
Joe shouts at his phone.
Hey, theres former Mooneys employee Ethan (Zach Cherry)!
His video says Joe was always a good dude, but his policy is to believe victims.
We love an ally.
The final voice we see chiming in is Becks brother, Clyde.
Although Joe never met him, Clydes not shy about casting blame in his direction.
This onslaught of accusation, anger, and condemnation has Joe seething.
After all the good hes done for people, this is all anyone will remember.
Maddies also not done with Joe.
Your work is mostly done for you.
Theres nothing worse than a man crying on TV.
After all, Joes nothing if not a series of excuses for doing what he wants to do.
Louise watches from the street as Joe sits down with Kim in Mooneys.
Hope his phones on silent, because they are actively streaming live.
He explains that its for the protection of rare books and has been a refuge his whole life.
You were protecting me.
And it turns everything around.
When theyre streaming again, he tells Kim that he was in love with Louise.
Not a victim, someone with great privilege, but he was vulnerable and in love.
But Clayton was hurting Bronte Louise always Bronte to him.
He doesnt want pity.
Henry asks whats happening, and she explains that daddy did something bad and hurt people.
Mommy did bad things too, so theyre going to London to make it better.
Theres even video of her on the streets, and Joes protective instincts fire up.
And then it happens.
Louise stops to help a man struggling to load boxes into his van.
Van Man (Jefferson White) confirms that shes Louise and tosses her in the back.
(Ladies, did we learn nothing fromTed Bundy?)
Not “thankfully” on that last part, but you get it.
After that, were gonna take Joe Goldberg down.
Hes got a spring in his step as he comes home to Louise, whos handcuffed to the bed.
Doing it all for love, indeed.
Joe admits that he wanted to kill Clayton, and he thinks part of her wanted it, too.
Listen, thats exactly how it looked from my couch.
Louise doesnt directly answer that, which seems like an answer in itself.
But she does confirm that she wants to be there with Joe.
Ill say it again: You!
Its Dane, aka van man, tossed in the book cage so Louise can determine his fate.
Joe, meanwhile, will be occupied playing referee to a domestic drama.
Maddie-as-Reagan suggests that she and Harrison, erm, get up to some husband-and-wife business.
My Bronte-ish romantic heart did me wrong there.
She asks why he hates women, and he says they talk too much.
His mom didnt, though.
With nowhere to hide, youre stripped down until you confess everything.
Joes also dealing with an obstinate man.
But Maddie wants her man alive and asks Joe to do his mind magic like he did on her.
Joe Goldberg mind magic, coming right up!
Yet Maddie still loves him!
(Anna Camps mouthed I love you over Joes shoulder is perfect.)
Maddie begs him for 15 more minutes and darts out to get her mans on board.
Joe snaps at seeing these two imbeciles so happy together, and he massacres a nearby chair.
Then its back to Mooneys, where hes shocked to find Louise waiting for him.
No, shes not catfishing him.
Yes, she regrets that she did but also, she doesnt.
Yes, she loves him.
He doesnt actually have to.
At her prompting, Joe reluctantly steps into the cage to answer her questions.
No, hes never killed anyone innocent.
(Ummmm, really, Joe?)
Yes, he likes killing people.
And in London, he stopped feeling bad about that.
Mostly, he needs to know that Louise wont leave him like everyone else did.
That dark side doesnt have to be in the drivers seat to protect little Joe anymore.
They have vanilla romance novel sex, and Joe realizes theyve hit another trope: She fixed him.
Why is this the biggest cringe of the episode?
Fixing Joe, believing that hes changed for you… yikes.
While speaking across a prison table, Nadia shocks Kate with the news that Joes the Eat-the-Rich killer.
But Kate adjusts quickly, as she always does, and leaves to make plans.
This includes an assist from Lady Phoebe (Tilly Keeper) yay!!
who offers sweet enthusiasm for Henry and a listening ear for Kate.
Phoebes sober now and blames herself for putting Joe into Kates orbit.
They agree that when this is done, theyll swear off men and grow old in the countryside together.
This is theYouspinoff I want.
Although Kate says Nadias release is legal, it seems extremely not above board.
Okay, Nadias in the spinoff too.
Kate, meanwhile, answers Henrys questions about his father, including the likelihood of his going to prison.
He says theyre in London, and hes going to Oxford with Lady Phoebe the next day.
The next day, Nadia and Kate meet with a… barrister?
She was expecting that and is prepared for the consequences.
Then the newly unburdened Joe steps out of his car and kills Dane.
Im not sure this is the personal growth Bronte was hoping for.
Shes got a plan for that.
Want to punish him first by making him face a few of his sins?
Shes got a plan for that, too.
Unfortunately, her plans hit a snag when Joe brings an abrupt end to Harrison and Maddies happy ending.
Does Joe keepeverybodysteeth, or just the victims he thinks might be useful for framing someone?
Did the police think it was weird that Harrison took his dead wifes teeth to the gym?
You dont want those Chiclets spilling everywhere at an inconvenient time.
Joe, meanwhile, is having a lovely day in New York with Bronte.
He jokes about buying her an Irish castle, then pulls out his phone to actually do it.
This does as Kate intended and convinces Joe that his only way out is to kill his spouse.
Hes injected with a sedative and wakes up in the book cage.
This encounter really does feel like an adult lady college professor expressing her disappointment in a misbehaving undergrad.
Kate understands how easy it is to fall for Joe.
But what happened to her quest for justice for Beck?
While Kates giving Bronte 10 minutes to pack her things, Joes trying to turn Nadia.
Now her familys bankrupt, and shes pretty sure her mom thinks she really is a killer.
For all of those reasons, she wants to watch Joe die.
ADD ANOTHER ONE TO THE SPINOFF!
Joe lights up in gratitude that shes alive and blames the London incident on his poor mental health.
After all, he helped her stay sober and keep custody of her daughter.
He made her better by loving her.
Then Tati Gabrielle blows the roof off in the first of two incredible scenes.
Joe cocks his head, genuinely puzzled by the assessment that hes not a white knight.
Bronte/Louise isnt sure, which is the first sign that theres still hope for her.
Marienne sits with her and delivers what might be the best monologue of the entire series.
She talks to Bronte about the voice in your head telling you that its too good to be true.
But Joes not going to keep you safe, and you know it.
She urges Louise because shesLouise to listen to what people are telling her.
And to remember that as long as shes alive, its not too late.
Things are escalating in the basement.
And when he cant undo the stitches, he CHEWS THE WOUND OPEN TO RETRIEVE IT.
If shes caught, shell say she acted alone.
But she needs Marienne to confirm Henrys adjusting to his new life.
Heres hoping shes right.)
Hes about to deliver a killing blow when Maddie interrupts.
and taking a long swig before lighting a match and tossing it into all that flammable material.
Flames erupt as downstairs, Kate grabs the mallet and gives Joe a matching blow to the head.
As theyre dying together on the floor, husband and wife talk honestly.
He tells her he killed her father.
She knows, and she also knows that Tom deserved it.
With that, Kate can die happy; she was recording his confession and texts it to Nadia.
And in Joes final moments, hes thinking about Bronte and wondering if maybe he deserves this.
Its you and me against the world.
But shes the only one who can get answers.
Its on her to stop Joe Goldberg forever.
So she says yes and kisses his bloody mouth.
Episode 10: Finale
Who gets Humperdink?
In the end, somebodys gotta do it.
Will it be one of his intended victims, a grieving family member, FBI task force?
Well, rest assured, you.
And its as messy, sexy, and slightly cracked as the rest of the series.
And make no mistake, Louise is out to bring Joe to justice.
Death isnt good enough; she wants answers.
She wants him to pay.
Joe, meanwhile, just wants to enjoy the happy ending he deserves with Bronte.
Im saying it right now: impulse shopping saves lives.
Then Taylor Swifts Guilty As Sin fires up, and they hit the road again.
Joe found a gorgeous lakeside cabin for them to squat in.
Practice for when he buys her that castle, he says.
Joe realizes shes talking about him and asks if losing his son and his business isn’t enough.
Because it’s always about the bad things that happen to Joe.
Louise zags and says shes afraidshewont make it to the end of the story.
Joes shocked that she would even think that and takes her for a nighttime rowboat ride on the lake.
Joe strips down to just his boxer-briefs and starts moving down her body.
It gives her the chance to pull the gun from under her pillow and hold it to his head.
Tell me how you killed Guinevere Beck, she demands.
Tossing the paperback at him, she demands he redact every last amateurish editing effort.
It parallels what hes done to her, erasing her intuition and her compass, her sense of self.
He even tries the Joe Goldberg mind magic, telling Bronte he loves her more than she loves herself.
Then his phone rings, and its Will connecting Joe to Henry via his gaming headset.
This gets through to Joe like precious little has.
He always was precocious, he says faintly, before breaking down.
He deserves this, and his son deserves better.
He crumples under the weight of this raw self-awareness.
But Louise isnt willing to sit in judgment or to coddle him.
Hes not a victim, and shes calling the police.
Joe asks how thats going to go; he killed Clayton on camera with no repercussions.
Why is this different?
The difference is that Louise woke up.
Henry opened his eyes.
And so will the world.
Like that, Joe flips.
Bronte has to die, and he tackles her, overpowers her.
When she does, shes too injured and shaky to make the rig work.
Then he wraps his hands around her neck to show her how he killed Guinevere Beck.
Flashlights surround him in the woods, and the dead offices walkie-talkie promises a tightening perimeter.
He falls to his knees and begs Bronte to kill him.
But shes done with him.
She wants the trial.
Wants him to see himself as he really is.
Then Joe lunges, and she fires on instinct as the police close in.
And yes, the gory photographs as he was being arrested made the internet rounds.
(Cardi B: He WAS a 10 now hes a 2… For Joe, justice looks like life without parole for killing Love and Beck and Benji and Peach.
Dr. Nickys conviction is vacated, and Dom and Phoenix turn their true-crime skills into social media fame.
Nadias a published author who also teaches women in the prison system.
Shes working in art again, particularly with the promising new artist Marienne Bellamy.
Teddy turned Lockwood Corp. 100 percent nonprofit (and looked cool doing it).
Henry lives with Kate, and someday hell need to decide what kind of man he is.
But the scars on his mothers body may be a constant reminder of which path to choose.
The new version is shorter, more popular, and even more acclaimed.
She doesnt define her life as before Joe and after him.
Instead, hes receding into the background as she decides who she wants to be.
And then we come to Joe.
Hes lonely in prison, sullenly readingThe Executioners Songand bemoaning the unfairness of his punishment.
After all, wasnt he simply the product of his environment?
Perhaps the deepest cut is the hair.
Its buzzed, all those Joe Goldberg curls banished.
Theyre all filthy, and they have Joe questioning which of them should really be locked up.
Is something broken in society, he wonders, and can whats broken in us be fixed?
